Welwyn Garden City Library

Welwyn Garden City Library

The newly refurbished Welwyn Garden City Library was officially opened by author Joanna Trollope.

The library has been remodelled and refurbished because of a need to relocate the Hertfordshire Central Resources Library. The new library is now a flagship library for Hertfordshire and is proving popular with local library users; more than 31,000 people have visited in the first six weeks.

Demco were design consultants for the library interior working in conjunction with the Hertfordshire Libraries Development Team. They also provided shelving for the temporary library which had previously been located in the shopping centre and which was then relocated into the newly refurbished library.

Andrew Bignell, Head of Libraries, Culture and Learning at Herfordshire County Council said: “the public reaction has been overhwelmingly enthusiastic”.
